This original poster was printed for “L’Art Spirite”, the exhibition held at the Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne from 18 March to 5 June 2005. The museum – founded on Jean Dubuffet’s collection – showed more than a hundred works by spiritualist creators such as Madge Gill, Laure Pigeon, Augustin Lesage and Jeanne Tripier: artists who said they drew under the guidance of spirits, often in trance, producing dense, intricate and mesmerising compositions.
The poster carries one of these drawings – a swirling, organic form in fine blue ink lines – with the exhibition title in black and red. A rare piece of art history and a striking graphic statement on the wall.
