L’Heure Dorée (‘the golden hour’) is Hortense Bataille at her most vibrant. Slender pine trunks in blue and turquoise rise from a blazing orange and red ground, while bright greens and yellows flicker through the canopy – a Provençal forest seen through the lens of Fauvism.
A joyful, energising piece that lifts a calm interior instantly. Hang it in a hallway, dining room or study where it can be enjoyed every day.
The crumpled paper technique
Each panel is printed on recycled paper and then crumpled and worked by hand, giving it a soft, textured, almost fabric-like surface – so no two pieces are exactly alike. A limited edition made in France.
How to hang
Delivered rolled in a cardboard tube. Hang it raw with pins or tacks for a relaxed, studio feel, add a pair of wooden hanging battens, or have it mounted or framed.
